Mayer Brown bolsters China practice with double hire

Mayer Brown has boosted its Asia practice with the hire of two new partners. Xiang Yang Ge joins the firm from Winston & Strawn to take up a role as head of projects in Beijing, while Jason Elder joins the capital markets practice in Hong Kong from Sidley Austin. “Jason’s a commercially astute lawyer and has been recognised for his experience and capabilities in capital markets throughout the Asia Pacific region,” said Mayer Brown partner Mark Uhrynuk. “He’s been based in Hong Kong for almost 10 years, advising clients in mainland China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Mongolia, South Korea, Taiwan and India.
