Three firms assist in negotiations for potential $3bn CommScope deal
Telecommunications equipment maker CommScope is negotiating with The Carlyle Group regarding a potential transaction that would result in CommScope becoming a private company in a deal woth $3 billion. Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher are advising CommScope on the negotiations with a team led by corporate and M&A partners Lois Herzeca and Eduardo Gallardo in New York. CommScope general counsel Frank Wyatt II is handling in-house legal matters for the company. The Carlyle group is advised by teams from Latham & Watkins and Alston & Bird. The Alston & Bird team is led by corporate partner C. Mark Kelly, and also includes corporate co-chair Gary Ivey, tax partner John Baron, IP partner Christopher Gegg, corporate partners John Latham and Lee Rimler, environmental partner Beverlee Silva, employee benefits partners Blake MacKay and Michael Stevens, and M&A counsel David Jacobs.
