Dewey & LeBoeuf bolsters bankruptcy team in LA and SF

Dewey LeBoeuf has bolstered its bankruptcy practice with the hire of 10 specialists from Hennigan, Bennett & Dorman, including a co-founding partner, Bruce Bennett. Nine of the new recruits will be based in Dewey’s Los Angeles office, while the tenth, counsel Joshua Morse, will be based in the San Francisco office. Dewey chairman Steven H. Davis said that Bruce Bennett “is one of the premier restructuring attorneys in the country, with unparalleled experience in Chapter 11 corporate reorganizations and Chapter 9 municipal reorganizations.” He added: “We are delighted to have Bruce and his team join us.” That team includes partners James O. Johnston, Sidney P. Levinson, Joshua M. Mester and former co-head of bankruptcy at Hennigan Bennett named Bennett J. Murphy; alongside counsel Joshua Morse and Monika Weiner; and three associates.
