UK partner promotions are on the rise

Over half of the top 30 UK firms have announced their partner promotions for the year, and all but one firm have increased the number of promotions over last year’s figures. The available figures show a 20 per cent increase in the number of promotions globally, with an 11 per cent increase in the number of promotions in the UK offices. Linklaters promoted 18 lawyers, up from 14 last year, while Allen & Overy promoted 21 (up from 18 in 2010) and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer promoted 20 new partners (up from 18 in 2010). Slaughter and May made up five new partners, up from just two last year.
