AZB, Amarchand, Simpson Thacher and Wadia Gandhy advise on KKR, IFC investment in Magma Fincorp

Global investment firm, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co (KKR) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) are investing Rs. 440 crore ($ 100 million) in Kolkata-based non-banking finance company Magma Fincorp. AZB & Partners advised KKR as the domestic legal counsel with a team led by Partner Ashwin Ramanathan. KKR was represented by a team of lawyers at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett led by Hong Kong-based corporate Partner Kathryn King Sudol along with Palo Alto tax Partner Katharine Moir, reports the AmLaw Daily. The Mumbai office of Amarchand & Mangaldas advised IFC with a team led by Partner Ravindra Bandhakavi. Magma was advised by Wadia Ghandy & Co with a team led by Partners Ashish Ahuja, Ankit Majmudar, Xerxes Antia and Fariyal Tahseen.
