UK firm Norton Rose to launch an office in Casablanca

Norton Rose is the third British firm to announce the launch of a Moroccan office in the past two weeks, following Allen & Overy and Clifford Chance. The Casablanca office will be led by Alain Malek, a Paris-based corporate finance partner and head of Norton Rose's Middle East and North Africa practice, who will spend about two-thirds of his time in the new office. The Casablanca office will be Norton Rose's fifth in Africa, alongside three offices in South Africa and an affiliated outpost in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The firm’s deputy managing partner, Tim Marsden, said "We have been very active in the North African market for some years and Casablanca provides a further focus for our existing practice in that region."
