Graduates in Nevada face a tough job market
Law graduates in the US state of Nevada face a tough job market and declining pay, according to reports. The State Bar of Nevada has published a survey showing that base salary for those with less than five years of experience has dropped from $90,001 - $95,000 in 2007 down to $80,001 - $85,000 this year. The Las Vegas Sun notes, however, that it is not all doom and gloom. The paper quoted Las Vegas attorney Ryan Works, who pointed out that some firms are beginning to hire again after widespread layoffs. He added, however: “I don’t think we will see the rapid, wild growth in hiring that we saw three or four years ago when people were taking on many associates and a bunch of different litigation lawyers.”
