Indianapolis firm Ice Miller takes on 90 lawyers via merger

Indianapolis-based law firm Ice Miller has merged with Columbus firm Schottenstein Zox & Dunn, bringing 90 lawyers under the Ice Miller Banner from 1 January 2012. The newly merged firm will have a lawyer headcount of 314 attorneys in six offices: Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, DuPage County, Illinois, Indianapolis, and Washington DC. James Davidson, the former president Schottenstein Zox & Dunn, will serve the merged entity as one of three deputy managing partners. Ice Miller’s chief managing partner, Phillip Bayt, said that the firm will maintain its core business values despite the growth: "By being bigger we want to make sure we do so at a pace and scale that doesn't cause us to have anything other than the one-on-one relationships we have with clients," he said.
