UK firm Martineau teams with German firm to launch in Brussels

UK firm Martineau is set to launch a new office in Brussels, after concluding negotiations to ally with German firm Becker Büttner Held. Becker Büttner Held has been operating in Brussels since January. The new office will be led by Martineau senior partner Andrew Whitehead, who also leads the firm’s energy practice. Whitehead will be joined in Brussels by Peter Manford, who heads the firm’s commerce group and James Dilley, who leads the competition and procurement team. Whitehead said: “The European energy market is evolving rapidly across Europe, with developments underway which will see greater interconnection between the UK and mainland Europe, both in physical terms as new interconnectors get built but also as trading platforms integrate and consolidate. “The pace of change is increasing, and we need to be at the centre of things to engage with the policy makers and help our clients understand what changes are planned.”
