Baker Donelson set to launch office in Texas

Tennessee-based law firm Baker Donelson Bearman Caldwell & Berkowitz is set to launch a new office in Texas after the acquisition of Houston firm Spain Chambers. Scott D Carey, the managing partner of Baker Donelson's office in Nashville, said: “We were looking for a group with experience in energy to complement our Louisiana offices. If you’re going to hire an energy lawyer, Houston is the place to go.” Roy Cheatwood, the managing partner of the Baker Donelson offices in Louisiana said: "Many of our clients would ask us if we had a Texas presence, because if so, they would be interested in having us as their law firm there. It's no surprise that many New Orleans firms, the firms we consider to be our major competition, have Houston offices.”
