GC at Boeing leads $18bn deal with Emirates Airlines
The General Counsel at Boeing, J. Michael Luttig, is leading an in-house team that will guide the largest sale of aircraft in the company’s 95 year history. The deal will see Boeing sell 50 of its 777-300ER planes to Dubai-based Emirates Airlines for $18 billion, and the agreement includes an option for the supply of an additional 20 aircraft to Emirates, which would add $8 billion to the deal's value. Boeing opted to keep the deal in-house rather than turning to its regular advisors Kirkland & Ellis.
