Baker & McKenzie loses team of 25 in Amsterdam

Baker & McKenzie is set lose a team of around 25 lawyers from its Amsterdam office, as the group sets out to launch an independent firm. The team is led by private equity partner Marc van Campen, and includes corporate partner Maurits Tausk, with private equity partner Jan Peters, tax partner Marcello Distaso and corporate partner Edwin Liem also expected to join the new outfit. The new firm will launch in Amsterdam under the name Van Campen & Partners, with an initial team of 15 lawyers. A further 10 lawyers and around five support staff are expected to join from Bakers in the coming weeks.
