Jones Day hires 3 private equity lawyers from Foley & Lardner

Jones Day has boosted its private equity practice with the hire of three specialists from Foley & Lardner. The firm’s San Diego office will welcome rainmaker Kenneth Polin, and tax structuring specialist Peter Elias, while the Atlanta office sees the addition of Amie Singer Piccola, who leaves Foley as a partner and joins Jones Day as of counsel. After a few years of diminishing work flows and decreasing dollar values on deals, it seems that California law firms are expecting things to pick up, and are readying themselves via lateral hiring strategies.
