The Times publishes list of 100 most influential lawyers in Great Britain
The Times has published its annual list of the most influential lawyers in Great Britain. The Times Law 100 includes includes judges, charity executives, human rights lawyers, general counsel. According to the magazine the list was "Carefully honed through hours of debate over several months" and judged by a panel of 12. The list is dominated by male lawyers, with only 14 female lawyers making the top 100. Two Magic Circle lawyers made the list: Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s Ted Burke and Allen & Overy's David Morley. Morley has the honour of being the first ever London lawyer to make it into the top ten. Recognising the difficulty in comparing and ranking corporate lawyers alongside lawyers with a more altruistic practice, this year the Times also made a separate sub-list of the top 10 City lawyers. There were no women included in this list.
