Indian law firm IndusLaw hires new Mumbai head

Indian law firm IndusLaw has hired the former general counsel at ICICI Bank Ltd. Pramod Rao began working with ICICI in 1996, and is set to end his tenure there in April, before taking up a position in the equity partnership at IndusLaw in June. He is tasked with setting up the firm’s Mumbai office, and building a practice in structured finance, financial services, debt restructuring and insolvency. Firm co-founder Suneeth Katarki said the firm had the aim of opening an office in Mumbai for a long time, but encountered some difficulty finding the right person to head the operation. “In that context we were waiting to get the right person and... we got Pramod” he said.
