Indian firm Amarchand expands with Ahmedabad launch

Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff is set to launch a new office in Ahmedabad as part of a regional expansion strategy that would see the firm reach 1000 lawyers and 100 partners by 2017 (up from its current numbers, which stand at 555 lawyers and 59 partners). The new office will be headed by corporate partner Pankaj Agarwal and litigation partner Tejas Karia.   Agarwal, who is leading the expansion initiative, said: “I see this as a great opportunity. I will be heading the Ahmedabad office and will look after the firm’s corporate advisory practice while Tejas Karia will head the dispute resolution practice. We expect to see a steady growth in Gujarat”.
