Former CE at two UK firms gets 18 months jail for theft

A former chief executive of two UK law firms has been jailed for stealing more than £74,000 of firm funds during his tenure. Andy Hodges was chief executive at Nottingham law firm Fraser Brown before taking up the same role at Birmingham firm Challinors. He confessed to the court that he stole £68,384.01 from Fraser Brown between March 2001 and September 2005, and he stole £6,235.32 from Challinors in December, 2010. Hodges was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment and was ordered to pay the companies compensation of around £100,000. Both firms confirmed that no client money was affected by the fraud.
