Shoosmiths to link up with Scottish firm

British law firm Shoosmiths is set to merge with Scottish firm Archibald Campbell & Harley, adding 65 staff (25 of whom are lawyers) to its roster and establishing a presence in Scotland for the first time. The news follows an announcement in May that Shoosmiths had begun a redundancy consultation as part of a firm-wide restructure, with as many as 93 staff expected to lose their jobs. There seems to be a run on Scottish firms of late, with Manchester-based firm DWF announcing a merger with Biggart Baillie earlier this month, and Pinsent Masons announcing a merger with McGrigors in February.
