Freehills appoints new MP ahead of Herbert Smith merger

Australian firm Freehills has appointed a new managing partner ahead of its merger Herbert Smith on 1 October 2012. Perth head Jason Ricketts takes over the leadership role from Gavin Bell, who is set to take on global responsibilities as the joint CEO of Herbert Smith Freehills. Bell said: “The choice of Jason as Australia managing partner not only reflects his strong performance and leadership, but also the importance of Perth as a growing business hub for Asia Pacific and its strength in natural resources.”
