Eversheds moves toward launch in Beijing

Eversheds has secured preliminary approval for the launch of a new office in Beijing, and is awaiting the ‘imminent’ final approval of its application from the Ministry of Justice. The firm originally intended to to launch in Beijing sometime in 2011, but the timeline has now been revised, with managing partner Lee Ranson indicating that the Beijing base is expected to open during 2012. The Beijing office will focus on international financial services work, as well as offering advice to multinationals on inbound foreign direct investment deals, and Chinese corporates on outbound investment work.
