Pinsent Masons lays off 47 support staff

Pinsent Masons has announced that it is laying off 47 support staff following its merger with Scottish firm McGrigors. The cuts are intended to remove duplication of support roles between the merging firms, and are comprised of 40 voluntary and seven compulsory redundancies from the firm’s HR, IT, facilities and business development departments. A Pinsents spokesperson said: "This has obviously been an unsettlingly time for all of those involved and we are very sorry to have to see colleagues go. We would like to thank our support teams for the patience and professionalism they have shown during this process."
