Freehills and Herbert Smith launch an office in NY

Freehills and Herbert Smith have launched a New York office together ahead of their merger on 1 October. The office will initially operate as Herbert Smith New York, and will become part of Herbert Smith Freehills when the merger goes live. The New York office will focus on complex cross–border disputes work, including international arbitration, anti-corruption and cross-border investigations, litigation supporting investigations and arbitration, and handling the US end of cross-border litigation for network clients. The New York office is led by Thomas Riley, and will have a total of 6 partners, 14 fee-earners, and 9 business services staff.
