DLA Piper to cut up to 251 jobs

DLA Piper has announced a wide-ranging consultation under the direction of Tony Angel, who was hired from Linklaters to increase profitability. The firm has entered a consultation that could could shutter its 85-strong Glasgow office, close or sell of the firm's Defendant Insurance Practice and consolidate its Document Production Unit into one location. In total, a staggering 251 jobs across the firm's UK offices are at risk. DLA has committed to offering an enhanced redundancy package - an improvement on its form in 2009, when the firm laid off staff with the statutory minimum package.
