New Freshfields paralegal apprenticeship scheme in Manchester

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer will be launching a new paralegal apprenticeship scheme beginning in October 2016 in its Manchester legal services centre. The University of Law will administer the academic components of the apprenticeship program in conjunction with Damar Training. In addition to covering legal and business skills, the apprenticeship program will include training on the English legal system, corporate law, and contract law. According to legal services centre head Olivia Balson, the new scheme will widen access to the legal market for talented apprentices. Gareth Stephenson, Freshfields Manchester head, announced earlier this year that the firm hoped to make progress toward full qualification as a solicitor by opening up apprenticeships.
