Simmons half-year revenue up 5 per cent

Simmons & Simmons has reported a revenue increase of 5 per cent for the half-year, with revenue rising from £142m to £149m. At this point last year, the firm reported just a 1 per cent increase. According to managing partner Jeremy Hoyland, the firm has endured market turbulence related to Brexit, but continues to focus on its key sectors, including asset management, life sciences, TMT, and financial institutions. For the first half of 2016/17, Simmons’ strongest growth occurred within the TMT and life sciences sectors, with disputes and corporate leading the firm’s practice areas. Hoyland anticipates that the firms’ recently established joint law venture (JLV) with Singaporean firm JWS will boost performance in the second half of the year.
