Greenberg Traurig to hire KWM team of six

Greenberg Traurig has confirmed reports that the firm is planning to hire a six-partner team from the London office of King & Wood Mallesons (KWM). All six partners specialize in real estate, which a spokesperson from Greenberg Traurig describes as a strategic move to boost the firm’s offerings in London. The six-strong team includes Michael Goldberg and David Fitzgerald, who currently serve as corporate partners at KWM, Steven Cowins and Marc Snell, who focus on private equity funds, tax partner Clive Jones, and real estate transactional partner Matthew Priday. Following KWM’s failed attempt to find a merger partner to salvage its struggling European arm, Greenberg Traurig agreed to hire certain parts of KWM’s EUME arm.
