KWM finreg team moves to Reed Smith

US firm Reed Smith has taken on a significant portion of the European financial regulation team from King & Wood Mallesons (KWM). The team was based out of KWM’s London office and led by partner David Calligan, who has been with the firm since joining legacy SJ Berwin in 1989. According to Reed Smith Europe and Middle East managing partner Tamara Box, the firm is continuing discussions with other KWM European partners. The firm has not confirmed further hires, but expects more KWM partners to join Reed Smith in 2017.
