Weil to close Dubai location

Weil, Gotshal & Manges has announced that the firm will be closing its Dubai branch, which opened in 2009. The Dubai office is Weil’s only location in the Middle East, and the firm plans to move partner Joseph Tortorici along with two associates to a European location. Weil is the latest in a series of firms to close an office in the Middle East, following recent announcements from Clifford Chance and Herbert Smith Freehills to close offices in Qatar. Dentons, on the other hand, is expanding in the Middle East, having recently announced that the firm will be launching a new location in Saudi Arabia.
