Freshfields hires 5 from Ashurst in Paris

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has hired a team of five corporate and finance partners from the Paris office of Ashurst. The team includes finance partners Stéphanie Corbière and Laurent Mabilat, along with private equity partners Nicolas Barberis, Guy Benda, and Yann Gozal. The hire follows a string of exits from Freshfields’ Paris office, including four partners who recently moved to Orrrick Herrington & Sutcliffe. Meanwhile, Ashurst lost a number of partners from its London office last year, and the firm closed offices in Rome and Sweden.
