Worst season for 'big law' jobs in over 50 years
This fall, law school grads are competing for half as many openings at big firms as they were last year in what is shaping up to be the most wrenching job search season in over 50 years, The New York Times reports. Top law firms like Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom; Morgan, Lewis & Bockius; DLA Piper; Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe; Baker & McKenzie; Milbank, Tweed, Hadley, & McCloy; and White & Case have postponed or entirely canceled its recruiting this year. Interviews have been cancled --- even at top law schools such as Yale, New York University (NYU), Georgetown, Northwestern.
