Rumour has it that Herbert Smith is considering a move to Australia, following the path laid down by Norton Rose, Clifford Chance and Allen & Overy. It is not yet clear whether Herbert Smith is considering launching an office in Australia, or concluding a ‘best friends’ alliance in the country, but some sources report that the firm is considering Blake Dawson and Freehills as a potential matches. A spokeswoman for Freehills wasn’t much help, saying” "we are not in the practice of commenting on rumours in the market". And Herbert Smith has also refused to comment on the rumours.
