UK trainee retention figures emerge

UK traineee retention figures are all over the map, with some firms offering places to their entire trainee group while others announce that their trainees will be left out in the cold this recruitment season. New announcements show Reynolds Porter Chamberlain offering places to all 13 of its trainees, while Freshfields kept 48 out of 50 of its qualifying class, Linklaters has retained 53 from 57, and Clifford Chance keeps 43 of its 52 trainees. Here is a table, usefull provided by RollOnFriday, of the retention figures from the magic circle firms: Slaughter and May kept 59 of 59 trainees, or 100% Freshfields kept 48 of 50 trainees, or 96% Linklaters kept 53 of 57 trainees, or 93% Clifford Chance kept 43 of 52 trainees, or 83% Allen & Overy kept 38 of 53 trainees, or 72% Meanwhile at the bottom of the charts is Mills & Reeve, which offered positions to just 36% of its trainees, or eight out of 22 qualifiers.
