Where do the graduates go? Indian survey shows recruitment pattern

Bar & Bench has conducted a survey to determine the recruitment patter for 371 law school graduates from leading law schools in India; NLSIU, Bangalore; NALSAR, Hyderabad; NUJS, Kolkata; NLIU, Bhopal and NLU, Jodhpur. The results show that 50.8 per cent of the students opted to begin their career at a law firm, with the top three Indian law firms – Amarchand & Mangaldas, Luthra & Luthra and Khaitan & Co – hiring 99 students, or nearly 53 per cent of the students that were recruited by firms. Seventeen per cent of the students were recruited by companies, 8 per cent opted to continue their education, and less than 7 per cent went straight into litigation.
