Freshfields launches global financial investment practice group
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has launched a global financial investors group to handle private equity, infrastructure funds, sovereign wealth funds and alternative capital providers. The group will be led by corporate partners Ludwig Leyendecker and David Higgins. Leyendecker said: “As we continue to see an increase in major global financial investors converging their investment strategies and diversifying their investment portfolios by operating on a global basis, it’s essential that we adapt our own offering to match even more closely their need for cutting edge expertise on what are typically ground-breaking and business-critical mandates.’" Higgins pointed out that there were also cross-selling opportunities under the new division: “For example, if we see an opportunity in Asia because a private equity partner sees an opportunity there, we can also bring it to the attention of a North American pension fund, if it is attractive to them.”
