Freshfields boots Asia energy practice with hires from Allens and Milbank

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has boosted its energy practice in Asia with the hire of two new partners: Gavin MacLaren from Allens Arthur Robinson and Mark Plenderleith from Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy.   MacLaren - who will work across a number of offices in Asia - brings expertise in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and project development work, and has had significant experience in the energy and natural resources sector.   Plenderleith will remain in Tokyo, and will focus on advising Japanese clients in their overseas investments, as well as boosting the firm’s broader Asian energy and infrastructure project finance capability.
