Former London MP from Dewey offers trainees a lifeline

The London trainees at Dewey & LeBoeuf have been offered positions by their former London Managing Partner, Peter Sharp. Sharp departed to take up a role at Morgan Lewis two weeks ago, and though Morgan Lewis & Bockius has not previously offered training contracts, Sharp has asked Dewey trainees looking for a new job to send him their CVs. In a leaked email, Sharp writes that his new firm is "determined to do what we can to try to help you in the present situation, subject to...overall constraints". There won’t be room for all of the trainees, since the Morgan Lewis office is considerably smaller than Dewey’s, but the news will nevertheless come as a life line for some.
