LG boosts restructuring and insolvency team with 2Birds hire

Lawrence Graham has boosted its international restructuring and insolvency team with the hire of corporate collapse specialist Brett Israel from Bird & Bird. Graham leaves a role as finance partner and UK-based co-head of Bird & Bird’s international corporate restructuring and insolvency group to join the partnership at LG. The move is seen as being part of a recruitment drive to bolster the firm’s position in merger negotiations with Field Fisher Waterhouse. In recent months LG has expanded its finance team with the hire of John Fox, Matthew East and Simon Elphick from Stephenson Harwood. Israel said: “LG’s finance and restructuring and insolvency practices have a strong presence already – the quality and number of partners hired in recent months is a clear statement of intent to grow significantly.”
