Baker & McKenzie advises Toyota Tsusho on €688 distribution purchase

Baker & McKenzie is advising Japanese conglomerate Toyota Tsusho Corporation on the €688 million purchase of a 29.8 per cent stake in distribution company CFAO from French luxury and retail group PPR.   Baker & McKenzie fielded a team of lawyers from its Tokyo and Paris offices, with partners Anne Hung and Ean Macpherson heading the Tokyo contingent, while Raphaele Francois-Poncet and Laurent Barbara headed the team in Paris.    “We believe this agreement is a significant development for Toyota Tsusho’s presence in the African automobile market,” said Hung.
