Reed Smith emerges as potential KWM suitor as Dentons exits talks

King & Wood Mallesons is confirmed to be in merger talks with Reed Smith, which may hire partners from KWM’s struggling EUME partnership. The partnership currently holds more than £30m in debt. The talks are still in early stages, but Reed Smith has confirmed it has entered discussions with several KWM partners. Meanwhile, Dentons has exited merger talks. According to a KWM spokesperson, lawyers and staff at the firm’s London office received a management update on 13 December with details about the latest developments for the practice.
