DLA Berlin and Georgia closures attributed to lack of profitability
According to Olaf Schmidt, DLA Piper joint managing director of Europe and the Middle East, the firm’s recent European office closures were the result of a lack of profitability. The office closures were announced within a week of one another, an occurrence that Schmidt says was a coincidence. DLA’s Berlin team and office were transferred to DWF, while the Georgia location was transferred to Dentons. Schmidt said DLA is focusing growing its profitable businesses. The firm’s European revenue rose six per cent to €338m compared to last year.
