Howrey closes London IP practice after string of departures

Howrey has closed its intellectual property practice in London following the departure of London managing partner Mark Hodgson to Field Fisher Waterhouse. Howrey’s London intellectual property practice saw a string of partner departures in 2010, with Marjan Noor leaving the firm for Simmons & Simmons, Paul Inman leaving for Wragge & Co, and Richard Willoughby joining Rouse Legal. Howrey managing partner and chief executive Robert Ruyak said that due to recurrent conflict issues, the firm was shifting its emphasis from having its own European IP practices to working with a network of other firms.
