Soft landing for former Dewey London head at Morgan Lewis
The former London managing partner at defunct firm Dewey & LeBoeuf has been appointed as co-head of the London office at Morgan Lewis & Bockius. Peter Sharp will work with finance partner Christopher Harrison, the pair sharing the role previously held by tax partner Charles Lubar, who launched the firm’s London office in 1981 and has held the role of London chief since 2009. Sharp stayed at Dewey until April, seeing it though part of the closure and bankruptcy filing process. He came under some criticism for leaving the firm despite his promise to stay until the end, but he says that the firm’s central management had ruined any hopes of keeping the London practice going by ignoring his business proposals.
