Canadian firm Faskin Martineau merges with South African firm

Canadian law firm Fasken Martineau is set to merge with leading South African law firm Bell Dewar on 1 February 2013. Bell Deway adds 76 lawyers in Johannesburg to Fasken’s headcount of 800, bringing expertise in mining, infrastructure, energy, project finance, capital markets and M&A.

 David Corbett will continue as Fasken’s firm managing partner while Blaize Vance, the current managing partner of Bell Dewar, will be the regional managing partner for Africa.
