Morgan Lewis expands in Hong Kong
US firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius will be launching an association in Hong Kong, following a string of recent expansions efforts throughout Asia. Throughout the past few years, the firm has opened offices in Japan, Singapore, Shanghai, and Beijing. The firm will enter into an association with local Hong Kong law firm Luk & Partners, which was established by Edwin Luk and Maurice Hoo, both of whom previously worked at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. The duo was part of a 13-partner Orrick team hired by Morgan Lewis in February. Morgan Lewis has also recently hired from Dentons and Simmons & Simmons, bringing the firm’s China and Hong Kong headcount to more than 70.
