Dewey continues to lose talent
Dewey & LeBoeuf continues to hemorrhage its lawyer base, with the Moscow team jumping ship to open a Russia base for Morgan Lewis & Bockius, while London banking and finance partner Bruce Johnston shifts to the London office of Morgan Lewis. Johnston follows Dewey London managing partner Peter Sharp and litigation partners David Waldron - who co-chairs both the firm's litigation group outside of the US and the energy litigation practice group - and Nick Greenwood, who announced that they were joining Morgan Lewis yesterday. Meanwhile, Dewey’s Frankfurt office is dissolving, with a corporate finance team - including partners Philipp von Ilberg, Joseph Marx, and Martin Kniehase - leaving to launch a local office for rival US firm McDermott, and the remaining partners expected to join other US firms.
