BLP resumes salary reviews
Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) is the latest firm to resume regularly scheduled salary reviews after this year’s Brexit vote, when many firms halted salary reviews and implemented pay freezes. BLP initially froze pay in July, when managing partner Lisa Mayhew announced the decision via email. Similar plans were soon introduced by other firms, including Addleshaw Goddard, Gowling WLG, Trowers & Hamlins, and Bond Dickinson. Real estate practices were particularly affected by Brexit uncertainty, as real estate deals were canceled or delayed. Simmons & Simmons was among the firms affected by the real estate slowdown, as the firm reduced headcount in its real estate division.
