85% of law schools give grads less than 10% chance of a biglaw job

The National Law Journal’s ranking of US law schools placing the highest percentage of their 2011 graduates in large law firms shows that graduates of Penn and Northwestern, along with a few other schools, have fairly good job prospects and represent relatively good value for money. But as Above the Law points out, the ranking also demonstrates that 85% of law schools give students a worse than 10% chance of getting a job in a large law firm when they graduate. This is heartbreaking when you consider the size of the debt that most students have assumed to enable them to get this education, and the fact that 71% of law students say that they expect to work for a firm when they graduate.
